Summer League Final 2022

2022 Summer League Final - Tuesday 18th Oct

After a hugely competitive Summer league season we were down to the final two pairs from the knockout stages and it certainly did not disappoint!

In the 1st singles Paul Bollerman (25) took on James Mott (68) off a rather large handicap. Both players battled hard and it was Paul who managed to keep his focus to close out the match 8/5

In the 2nd Singled Clare Bucknell (51) took on Darren Isted (73) in a really tight encounter with Darren managed to sneak it 8/6.

This set up a nail biting finish with the title all depending on the doubles result! Both pairs had had some fantastic victories throughout the season and were going to give it their all in the final match. With nothing separating the pairs they found themselves at 7/7 and of course it then went 40all with Paul hitting a precise and unreturnable cut shot to in the corner claim the 2022 title for himself and Clare.

Huge congratulation to both pairs involved for a fantastic run in the event but also are really good final with all 4 players giving an excellent example how to give and receive handicap which just goes to show how brilliantly the handicap system works in our game!
